Finding Your Strengths

18 May

One of the most important tools in your Life Purpose Toolbox is understanding your gifts. My current favourite tool is definitely the Gallup Strengthsfinder 2.0. I did the first one a few years ago, but somehow it didn’t quite connect. While my results are not that different from the first test, the application this time around really hit the mark for me. So even if you’ve done the earlier test, this is the next generation of strengths test.

Benjamin Franklin said: “Hide not your talents. They for us were made. What’s a sundial in the shade?”

Each one of us has received gifts from God that make us who we are. Understanding your strengths helps direct your unique path and contribution to the world. No use positioning your life where you cannot bring your maximum return on God’s investment.

It’s time to move into the areas of your greatest strengths and work at it. I know God is interested in the multiplied life.

John Burns of Relate Church says, “Find out how you work and work it.”

Here’s what I recommend:

  • Buy the book Strengthsfinder 2.0 by Tom Rath.
  • Find your unique access code in the packet in the back for the Strengthsfinder 2.0 assessment, as well as access to the website’s other resources. (Please note that the access code is valid for one user only.)
  • Do the test. It takes about 20 minutes, plus time to print and read your feedback.
  • Then post your comments. I’d love to hear what your strengths are!
